When we feel anxious or excited, the heart is the first place that we experience the sensation. What happens when we have prolonged stress or unresolved trauma? Our mind is overloaded, our heart is then overcharged and our entire being is in overdrive. This causes muscle tensions, tight joints, inflamed organs, and exhausts our neuro-endocrine system. Our inner fitness becomes depleted and our happiness is robbed!

Yoga from the Heart is tailored to restore our inner fitness using safe and gentle, yet powerful yoga postures, whole-body breathing and guided meditation.

We learn to think from the heart and feel from the mind, to be more in tune within, calmer and neutral.

Join Lisa to restore our inner fitness and return to our innate quality being happy.

The Introductory Class is great for beginners and experienced practitioners who are open to explore. You don't need prior yoga experience. All you need is an open heart and mind.

  • Introductory Class 1: Saturday, 5 October 2019 (10am to 12pm) to re-energise the muscles and joints.

  • Introductory Class 2: Saturday, 19 October 2019 (10am to 12pm) to re-balance the neuro-endocrine system.

MORE INFO

With a good blend of motion and stillness, you will appreciate the importance of calmness in your heart and clarity in your mind. This practice provides you the means to be more neutral and help you to understand how your thoughts and emotions affect your body.

The movements are integrated with the spine and core energy centres to promote healthy flow of energy, to encourage physical and mental alignment. Directly working with the heart meridian makes the practice even more powerful to release emotional and physical stress. More often we lock away emotions in the muscles, joints and nervous system. This practice helps bring awareness to the affected areas and re-energisation occurs when we are relaxed.

You are also introduced the restorative nature of yoga postures. The intention is for the body to slow down and open up through passive stretching which helps calm the nerve tissues and nurture the neuro-endocrine system. You are guided into meditation while resting in the restorative postures to deepen awareness, making it an excellent antidote to stress

If you haven’t heard of whole-body breathing, this workshop gives you a taste of its healing effect. When we are aware that our body breathes as one unit, we enhance the ability to feel and sense our body as a whole, not as separate parts. This practice encourages the synchronisation of movements with whole-body breathing to deepen the inter-relationship of your heart, mind and body.

When we think of fitness, the body is our primary focus. Very often we neglect the inter-relationship between heart, mind and body. Inner fitness is about our capacity to face uncomfortable sensations and unexplained emotions without being overwhelmed. This is achieved when our heart is quiet and our mind is calm.

Meditate from the Heart gives you a glimpse of how this equilibrium can be achieved. We use our heart as the fulcrum to enhance awareness and acceptance, the cornerstone of our inner fitness.

When we learn to introspect our thoughts and emotions, we can accept our experiences with neutrality. We become less reactive with aversion or avoidance. This can be an antidote for an agitated heart and a restless mind.

MORE INFO

This meditation class incorporates simple breathing techniques to help you relax and concentrate. This is helped by having the correct seating posture, centred with the whole body. These techniques can be used thereafter at home or at work.

You will be guided into meditation to build awareness from your heart. This encourages the ignition of your inner resources, love and strength. It doesn’t require you to be a seasoned meditator to enjoy the benefits of meditation. This is a good opportunity for you to exercise your inner self and bring out the spirit within.

Join Lisa to gather your thoughts and nurture your heart.
